A home in The GAP has won The Chicago Landmark Award for Preservation Execellence.
Our community has a landmark district within it's boundaries. The district was designated ask a Chicago Landmark area July 13, 1988. The district is called Calumet Giles Prairie District (http://www.cityofchicago.org/Landmarks/C/CalumetGilesPrairieDist.html) . The district is located on the near south side of Chicago( http://www.cityofchicago.org/Landmarks/Maps/CalumetGilesPrairieDist.html).
Tim & Lynne Rinkoski are residents and owners of the award winning home.
The Gap Community Organization Housing Committee chaired by Dr. Peter McCauley, Sr. and committee members have created a winner. The Housing Committee reviews; and works with home owners, developers, and institutions to ensuring that changes and work to be performed are in keeping with the district. The community organization’s body which approves all housing developments within the district, can say “Our work is not in vain”.
All members of the community can take their hats off! This is a great award for the home owners, the housing committee, and the community at large.
Please take time to congratulate Tim & Lynne Rinkoski (rehabitco@sbcglobal.net); Housing Committee members; and all those who reside in The GAP.
